Long time never blog but I always blog when theres NDP haha. too bad theres none for hwa chong this year.

1st thing i noticed was that they painted the arrow on the roads away. It was left there on the 40th NDP, in 2005.
next was that the Parade RSM marched from the back, gave the command for SC to march in then move to the front, a nice change.
but stupid things happen. the SC did respond to his sedia command but apparently some ppl did not julang in time, caught on TV summore
btw i find it funny when he said in his video "we will stand tall" then its a vid of him pointing his pace stick high LOL
ok the band is dam zai, played immediately so that the contingents no need to wait for 2 drum-rolls but they marched off immediately upon the command
btw i think the music are all recorded one, the band only play at the site, very softly :)
one thing abt the zai-ness of ndp is the contingents' ability to keep distance
aft the 1st belok the army contingent abit out of coordination
but i like how the combined band enter the parade ground
ok, 1 civilian caught looking down at his marking. now a few more

CCs did not turn together for kedalam! both facing the contingent and facing the front
btw i liked that this year they did not have the cliche formation of 45 or NDP 2010

and when he give hormat kepada panji panji hormat senjata the GOH come to attention
and the regimental colours + SPF + RSAF march at the command while the state colours + RSN + Army marched off aft the drum roll
btw if you looked closely the 1st CC of the army GOH is missing. Hes at the side with the mic giving the command, which puzzles me cause he already have a coord less for him to give kedalam later on wad...
i like the colours party belok even though they have 12 person in front!
aft the 1st belok, the GOH do 2 45 deg turn instead of 1 90 deg turn
and i like that NDP always have the colours party and the 1st incoming GOH marching in line
stupid mediacorp did not capture the backward hentak of the colours party! i was like ARGH when i heard the double tap!
yay my favourite colours form up and they really have alot of space lol
GOH CC did not turn together for kedalam!
but luckily they turned to the front together. and the Parade RSM's final 'DANG" IMO was not sharp enough
and the GOH CC was together! nice haha. but it looks like they followed the music coz they cut when the music ends, which is a nice way to judge
i also liked how the contingents always react to 'BARIS' just before attention. all will pull back their shoulders upon the identifier
oh the colours party did not cut together =(
and i like how the colours rusok themselves :) ok la at the command of their colours RSM but still the audience dunno mah so look very nice
for the salute to the president the UGs opened their umbrella and formed the words NDP 2010! Its nice but the emcee didnt even mention abt it =.=
and for the rusok command aft the anthem the Army GOH CC and the PC did their sword drills simultaneously. it was perfect! great job haha
The slow march/inspection tune is the SAF Provost/Military Police March: Pride, Discipline, Honour.

Band gave double tap when PC reach his position and immediately give the drum roll and the entire GOH march off without command. I always like this closely packed timeline
and lol the colours ensign 'let fly' the colours when the pandang kekanan is given when the colours are already free
i like how the army SC did turning on the march. its very nice. and i rewatch the youtube video many times to count the timing for the SC march past ><
i also liked how the other military contingents belok but not the other SC cause they were a square and looked very awkward
and i wonder wads the cue/timing for the contingents at the back to start march. they cant all start at once cause they will crash
the GB CC look so SCARED.
the Scouts CC even worse. He looked like hes dying and he march on the wrong leg =.=
AND FINALLY THE BAND's TURNING WAS LIKE THE HIGHLIGHT LA LOL

Overall, I liked this year's PC's WOC. very nice

Today's econs tutorial was emo. I cudnt ctrl myself much either.

Many thoughts flow through my mind.

I ask myself, if I were to join the teaching profession, what does that mean? It means that I want to groom the students. But now it seem like teachers have to do, so much admin, so many projects that they are forced to scarify their students in some ways....

But its really very 动心 when mrs tan was sharing how bad she felt and how much she wanted us to do well till the point where she was at a loss for words.

On the school side, its really more beneficial for C1 tutors to follow up to C2, end up half of our tutors are changed. Including CT, replaced with a 'fill in your blank' one...

Weeks ago I was just sharing with Ms Koe how bias CSE can be. Almost all the opportunities are given to CSE or CSE have priority, then the rest of the consortium classes get almost nothing. Ms Koe replied 'Its quite elitism' and that's exactly my thought!

Very long never blog already. Many things happened since my last post. My absence from blogging is mostly due to mugging for promos luh. So I got CDDES for overall grade la. Not say very good but im satisfied le. As I've said I dun have any scholarship or H3 to worry about. my whole point is just to get promoted.

So other than studies, npcc has also been keeping me busy. There's many many manty admin stuffs. Unit events like POP and also Hq stuff like joining 77th CIBTC (D09) Committee as CII (CI Instructor) and going for npap and syfoc 2010 trainer selection. FI Stanford say since next yr ndp is at padang so SYF might be at floating platform. Since it is open air means might have feu-de-joie or fire-of-joy which is my fav drill. I want to teach what ive learnt 3 yrs ago! =D

and since promos are over, its CIBTC CIBTC CIBTC
from mentoring to IPC to actual course. Whoa its really something new that I've experience and Im thankful to everyone that guide me and teach me new things. The trainees are wonderful too. Except for one. Without that ONE, its sure going to be even more wonderful. But some people need to learn how to respect and I realli mean R E S P E C T.

For nao, course is over, next up will be NPAP followed by SYF =)

I was actually quite upset to hear that my designate NCOs left training early because they need to meet at the airport the NEXT day at 6am.

I can remember very clear that a year ago when I left for Mongolia which was on a FRIDAY and I am like suppose to meet at 8pm. I was still at training until 5pm. So I do not understand why they need to leave training early at all.

有心的人, will also sacrifies his mugging time, to complete a proposal by the deadline set by his superiors. This was a common sight in ExCo, but I have yet to see it in the designate ones as well.

To me, 有心的人, will stay till the last minute possible to help out at NPCC.

I've always thought that they have the 'xin', but maybe I'm wrong.

Passing of Tradition

I would like to share a note HO Paul wrote in Facebook:

"Usually, I do not have a habit of writing notes in Facebook unless the topic is of some significance. This particular note warrants the same kind of importance as the previous notes that I have written. Please note (pun not intended) that this post is that of my personal opinion and is of no way representative of the people/organization mentioned in this note. Readers' discretion is advised.

Back in the middle of the last century, the then Prime Minister, Mr Lee Kuan Yew, proposed the setting up of a Police Cadet Corps to give students a better insight into the workings of the Police Force. It was felt that a close understanding and relationship should be built between the Police Force & the Youth of Singapore. With the Prime Minister's support, the Police Cadet Corps was thus formed in December 1959 on an experimental basis.

The organizational structure and training programme thus modeled after that of the regular Police Force. Since we are training our youths to be the builders of a safe a secure home, the NPCC was put under the hierarchical structure of Training Command of the SPF. We were within the SPF and not a stand-alone organisation. Therefore, it is not wrong to say that we are part of the SPF, and now part of the Home Team.

The PCC (thereafter renamed NCC (Police) and now called NPCC) had uniforms that was similar to that of the SPF. When they wore khaki uniforms, we wore too. When they changed to the current blue uniform, we changed too. It was the little differences within the uniform itself that distinguished who from whom.

The khaki uniform comprised a black headdress, khaki shirt and short pants, black puttees and ankle boots. As the Second World War drew to a close in 1945, the khaki uniform was updated with the black beret replacing the Songkok, and completed by blue grey flannel shirt, brown khaki short pants, dark blue hosetops, black boots and leather belt, and a navy blue whistle lanyard. This uniform became the primary uniform used throughout the force, and was last worn in 1971. The shoulder lapel bearing the letters "SPF" was worn to give a sense of identity of its officers.

Members of the NPCC back then wore the same uniform. But to distinguish ourselves, the letters "NPCC" was on our shoulder lapel instead of "SPF". It is perfectly fine to create our own unique sense of identity. Afterall, we are what the layman would say: "Same same, but different".

When the SPF changed their uniform to the current version, they removed the shoulder lapel and introduced collar lapels bearing the SPF crest. NPCC for that matter, retained the shoulder lapel for their cadets and many of us who were long enough in the Corps will fondly remember our metal chrome "NPCC" chrome lapels. I still have mine for keepsakes. Officers in NPCC had NPCC crests for their version of the collar lapel. So for a long time, these were the things that made us "same same, but different".

There was no major change to the uniform since then, except for the adoption of embroidered shoulder ranks and badges for all ranks as well as the removal of the whistle & chain in the late 1990s. NPCC followed suit years later in the new millennium.

Soon, NPCC will see a new change, although not drastic, but will see the passing of a tradition that, might not be known to those who pushed for the change. The letters "NPCC" in our cadet ranks where a pass-down from that of the metallic shoulder lapel. Officers do not have them as they can be identified by the collar lapel. We will soon see the inclusion of the letters "NPCC" on the ranks of officers.

Apparently, this is to be in line with the rest of the National UGs (NCC & NCDCC) to have the abbreviations on our ranks. However, they fail to realize that the NCC & NCDCC whose parent bodies SAF & SCDF respectively have the words "Singapura" & "Civil Defence" respectively on their rank epaulettes. The SPF still maintains its identification through its collar lapel. We don't see SPF or otherwise on the ranks of our regular counterparts do we?

Another reason is that (a minority) of NPCC officers have been found abusing their authority or have episodes of mistaken identity when donning the NPCC uniform, having moments of split personality with the regular policemen. So instead of arresting the problem with these irresponsible officers (whom I personally think should be out of the Corps), the problem of the uniform was arrested instead.

As we strike an identity for ourselves, we sometimes fail to hold on to certain traditions who made us who we are today. Without proper judgment, these traditions will be lost as time passes. People who make decisions to warrant changes in an organization fail to see the entire picture. They sometimes make (wrong) decisions that will affect the people that have stayed longer than they have, and longer than they will.

Let us ask ourselves: Who we really are? What we really stand for? Where are we now? Which direction are we heading to? Then, hopefully, as an organization we will progress."

1) Markers March-in --> Drum Roll so zai then the beat so weak. Shld have something like Call of Drums
2) Markers March-in --> NPCC + SJAB side reach faster than Scouts + NCC side. Plus Scouts and NCC not aligned at all
3) Contingent March-in --> Band is rushing. The beat is more than 120/min
4) Contingent March-in --> NPCC + SJAB side reach a little bit faster then Scouts + NCC side
5) Contingent March-in --> NCC did not keep proper dressing when marching in and hence the distance between the last file and the 2nd last is very big, and then they bounce back. Contingent Commanders SHOULD NOT turn and TALK to the contingents!

I might not be a total expert in parades. but I believe my experiences with SYFOC Parade 2006, NPCC Annual Parade 2007, Police Day Parade 2007, NPCC Annual Parade 2009 in addition to my participation in Sch NDP from 2006 and 2007 plus 2008 which was planned by me, can help shape our Sch NDP into a better one.

Some of the so called 'mistakes' mentioned(the list is non-exhaustive) actualli 'appeared' during trainings, but I think I snatch too much show already, as many ppl pointed out, I almost 喧宾夺主, or maybe I already did, so I tried to tone down coz this yr I am not the organiser. But actually I always believe all UG instructors should come together and contribute no matter what, afterall since this is OUR parade, we should just work tgt and try our best to make it the best out of it =DD

AFI for NDP 2010:

Request the band to play at a constant 120 if possible
General salute for RO
Remove marker march in
All 4 contingent in 1 row, instead of 2
Flag party
Proper planning with trainer briefing and key personnel training before combined rehearsal
Send parade procedure to specific UGs to train up on drills needed
Set proper rehearsal objective for each rehearsal
Have more rehearsal
Request UG to select men and confirm parameter before 1st rehearsal(can be done with advance notice)
Draw out and measure the distance of all markings before rehearsal(coz the width and length of the field is a standard) and use measuring tape on the actual day(save time to move contingent and reduce parallax error)
Standardise distance between file with cane for ALL contingents
Finalised marking by 1st rehearsal
Ensure contingent and contingent maintain distance and CC with contingent
CC should all form up with same number of steps
Train whole parade to do proper march past (proper distance, ARMSWING. the crowd knows NOTHING but armswing. keep dressing during pandang kekanan)

I realise that your GOH good not enuff, must be the whole parade, if not the niao sure come one. Experienced it today.

Actualli I have already discussed abit with some fellow trainers with next yr NDP already. Here is the outline

i tink we have achieved more than that. our TOs and instructors enjoyed it too

im very proud of the fact that despite the severe shortage of manpower, we can exceed expectation, adapting to situation(PUB boat!) well etc.

im oso realli impressed by this batch of sec 3s. they are realli promising =)

its great working with all the CIs and TOs. all the TOs and HOs are dam interesting ppl lol.

at the end of the day, i hope the cadets realli take home something and enjoyed the camp =)

ok bhb, but im proud of myself as the vice-coord. but i cudnt have done so well without mr ong's help la haha. esp the programmes he suggested. i was having my doubt but it turn out well. then he said 'of coz la. tried n tested by me many many times ok' =D

tat day i was wondering if i shld turn all my future ncos into drill specialist.

coz other ppl 1st impression is look at hw zai ur men can do drill. u produce 1 solid bang ppl say this grp of men are zai.

and if u drill specialist then ur knowledge/interest in drill quite great then can actualli produce alot of interesting things one. like next time plan ndp plan zai zai. or psycho juniors go parade etc.

tat day i was playing around with command la, i used my knowledge learnt from practically everywhere to play around lor. summore gt malay CLT there summore, i was like wa later screw up malay they laugh at me how.

aniway i wanted to like form my sec 3 squad into one single file to train drill coz 30+ ppl maintain 1 single rank is not easy. they did it before, i jus want to try again.

so i started with:

barisan hadapan kekanan, barisan belakang kekiri, kekanan dan kiri pusing.
(front rank to the right, back rank to the left, right and left TURN!)
barisan tegan diam, yang lain dari kiri dan kenan cepat jalan.
(middle rank stay still, the rest of the people, from the left and right, QUICK MARCH!)
berhenti.
(HALT!)
menghadap kehadapan, kekiri dan kenan pusing
(face the front, left and right TURN!)

haha the commands are a mixture of the form squad into U shape command, sizing command and pacing commands plus a bit of twisting here and there. i jus told them la, you know the commands well, i.e wad the words mean, then you can play around with the command wad =D

Many thoughts are running through my mind so i think i btr blog now before they disappear(some already did)

well so today(sat) is PIR interview. Pre-Inauguration Review Interview.

I tink it realli further my understanding of this batch of sec 3s.
Some expectedly showed the heck care attitude la.
Some unexpectedly appear as superficial people, between council and npcc, they will only choose the side that will give them more public recognition(i.e. wad most of the sch see la = council).
some blantantly go for the portfolio.
some aft force questioning revealed a flawed value system.
some reviewed their hot-temper.
some showed their nervousness.
some showed their confidence.
some even show some arrogance.

This is my 5th time interviewing others already i tink...

when i was in ortus council exco interviewing councillors to run for election
when im going to step down for council in 2007, interviewing for new exco candidates
when i was part of the interviewing panel for the sec 1 DSA in 2008
when im going to step down for npcc in 2008, interviewing for new exco members

To be honest I am really strict abt interviews and i normally corner ppl...its a pity that just now i din have the luxury of time due to the high number of interviewees. last yr some1 cried. this yr the atmosphere was slightly better. but the table arrangement was scarrier. ive learnt from my past interview experience that the interview panel also protect themselves. They have a large number of ppl, like today around 10 v 1. Then they will all have a long table and they will sit behind the table, something like protecting them. Then you have ONE single chair or you let the candidate sit at the far end of the table. This puts them in a vulnerable position and is open for the interviewers to attack. this is some tricks i would say whenever i conduct interviews. the whole purpose of a interview is for us to find out his personality, how can he be of service to the organisation and his value system. no point correcting him about wad he writes in the form, no point questioning him abt wad wrong he did in the past. jsut ask questions that reveal them as a person. qns that show how they can think creatively on the spot under pressure are useful as well, like u show them a duster and ask 'how do you turn this into a time machine' or you scribble something on a piece of paper and ask 'tell me what you see on the paper'. These qns might seem stupid or irrelevant but it shows how they perform on the spot, under stress. Just like how a leader must make a split second decision under immense pressure.

Ok so aft the interview i guess we have more or less have an idea of who we want as our department heads and division chairmen and who is definately strike off.

now on to unit camp that happen earlier this wk, form mon to wed. like the officers, we generally like how this camp was run, but if my instructions were followed i tink it wud have been better =)

on the other hand, while reading the sec 3s blog, there were mixed views. some find it so-so, some find it okay, some find it screwed up upside down. there were many factors la but most of them is the part regarding PT and how they carried out the instructions. so overall i guess the whole idea for the camp and hw it was run was gd, which was wad the officers saw, but here and there we can fix things for the facils and buddies to make things even better. anw i do think that the unit bonding objectives have been met one way or another

but like wad i say la and wad HO keep stressing, when i give you the luxury of a camp with fun and bonding elements you must uphold the basic expectations of a UG cadet. i believe i have said wad are the requirements already so i wun say here.

i jus wan to repeat wad HO zaki said during NPAP. 'I do not like my instructors to scream and shout at my cadets.[which is why i dun like to give them countdown, it shld be expected of them to move quickly ANIWAY]. We are all members of a uniformed organisation and I believe a member of a uniformed organisation have a virtue, call SELF-DISCIPLINE'

This yr its us, the NPCC doing the marshalling for CSM again.

For the past few years, many ppl complained abt this shitty job coz u get tons of ppl trying to siam and u have to be the 'bad guy' to stop them.

Some immature ppl will even curse n swear when u collect their ez-link card.

BUT HEY! There must be some1 to do the job rite, so if we r allocated to it, then do it well and gd. dun go ard and complain its some sai kang. the world is full of sai kang, but there must be ppl to go n do them one...so jus do it with a positive mindset ya? =D

well to be honest i realli carn get NPAP out of my mind. somehow i jus realli love parade. this is my 4th year in parade oreadi.

It all began in 2006 in SYFOC06 as a GOH shooting feu-de-joie. the burning passion has nvr stopped since then. and then in 2007 i moved on to npap as goh. Zaki Sir said he rmbed me being in NPAP07 GOH and was proficient in M16 rifle drills. I think i owe this to the CIs and trainers that taught me when i was merely a sec 2 LCP turned CPL. Since i have attended close to 15(or was it 17) SYF trainings i tink my arms drill ought to be better than first timers. I will nvr forget ex-CI Jia Hong, Nelson and Ahmand who went through SYF trainings with NPCC GOH Boys all the way from March to 1st July. Not forgetting the king of the parade square, SSSgt Firdous. He is realli dam zai haha. a pity he is not around le so cannot learn from him animore. In 2007 theres oso PDP whr HCI formed the entire NP contingent. 2008 there wasnt anithing much, just that i transfered wadever ive learn from the past to have a mini-revamp in the 2008 sch ndp to make things better. Watch out, 2010 sch ndp will be even better.

In the past, I am always the parade participant, other people training me.(sch ndp 08 nt counted la so...simplistic lol) now its totally different, i train others. and its realli nt simple. the cadets are foreign to u. they dunno u, u dunno them. yes ive solo-ed like 3 squads myself before but tts my own cadets, i noe them. but here, the 1st contingent 8 has like 90 plus cadets with 2 other trainers and sometimes alone. and then GOH boys where even elevating urself, u will still find trouble speaking to 150+ people at the same time. its realli a challenge. but at the end of the day i realli hoped that i have passed on my drills knowledge to the cadets and they benefited from them and remember them.

Recalling how many of them fared in the 1st GOH training, and then looking at zaki sir's full dress rehearsal photos and video and then at the actual day's photos and video. i carn help it but feel realli proud to be the trainer of the 50th anniversary GOH Boys as they realli improved throughout the 10+ trainings. Even though i wasnt appointed as their contingent commander but I hope they remembered me for training them.

I am a super emotional person. I take very very long to put something down and move on. I can still remember the week immediately aft NPAP, esp monday, i keep staring at the parade sub-com photo that paul sir had printed for us. The moment I've gotten it, I immediately pasted it onto my school file. Throughout the week, i kept staring at the picture(yes, not listening to lectures and tutorials) and think abt the times that we had. Everyday, i will go onto youtube to try to search for videos and i will feel like crying when i see that they execute the marching with near perfect arm swing, the entire parade banging together etc. coz I know all the trainers/FIs/HOs hard work had paid off.

Well, NPAP09 was over for around 3 weeks already. Trying my best to adapt back to normal life haha. Well and yesterday was NPAP09 parade sub-com gathering at kee yong's place. I think we all enjoyed ourselves!

yesterday and I tink we all feel great. At least they recognise our contributions, like what zaki sir said, its at least 8 hours travelling there and back home. Not even the $2 they give to CIs can cover it =)

I am really glad to be given the opportunity to be 1 of the parade trainers for NPAP09.

Being 1 of the 4 trainers taking 150 plus cadets and being the CIA were difficult but challenging tasks. However the trainings had definately taught me many new things and I will definately remember them and share them with others.

I would like to thank you for your patience in guiding us, the trainers, and your dedication towards making this parade a great sucess. Your words during briefing and debrief sessions have inspired me to be a better instructor and these are skills that I will never forget.

I have made sacrifies along the way to commit into this parade but I am glad that I have made the decision to carry on with NPAP. Given another chance, my decision remains the same.

Well aniway at the end of the day I think ive enjoyed NPAP thoroughly. And it jus goes on to prove that i did not make the wrong choice in becoming a cadet inspector simply bcoz the NPCC family is just too great. SO DAM SWEET AND NICE!

haha. yep thanks to yufan who enlighten me on wads mess kit. But tts the SJAB version but im quite sure the singapore military or police one will look alike =)

But i tink it look realli smart with the guys in TUX and the female in dress. Can u imagine that a dress is actualli a uniform and you put on a shoulder board? And the guys haf a red bow tie? so dam cool. but u must be super high rank =.= And while searching for no.2 uniform i found pictures of no.5J. Ive seen no.5 and no.5T since NP officers wear them but i nvr see 5J before, it look realli smart with the overall jacket over them =)

But i dun understand. both No.5 and No.2 are use for formal dinner or occasions. but why have 2 different attire. ok la no.2 look btr/more than grand no.5 la ... but y nid 2 diff one... =/

oh and i was asking myself why NPCC dun have colours.

FYI colours and flags are different.
Colorus dimension are 1:2 while flags are 2:3
Colours have fringes, tussle, and are corded accordingly. Flags dun.
Colours are consacrated by religious leaders but flags are not.

And colours follow realli strict protocol and there is onli 1 copy per colour so the same colours are paraded every parade. They stay and grow old with the unit until they are retired(ard 25 yrs) before they are being replaced. When they are retired, a formal ceremony will be held for them.

NCC have them. 1 for Air Sea Land each. and 1 for each land district. That is as far as I know. SJAB have them, 1 for each zone.

NPCC only gt 1 Ceremonial Flag, fringed but not 1:2, not consacrated, dun haf tussle and not corded etc lauched in 2002 and aft that its whereabout is unknown. Every NPCC Annual Parade we will parade the normal state FLAG, SPF Flag, and NPCC Flag as well as all the unit flags.

Well come to think of it if we were to have NPCC colours it would look super stupid. No.1 we carn parade state colours
No.2 SPF dun haf colours as well. In fact Police Day Parades do not parade any flags
No.3 If we were to parade NPCC colours we carn parade all the school flags which is btr in my opinion.

yep so lets jus stick to this way. and btw i super like this yr Gold flag formation. super nice. Gt video i show all of you =)

OMG its like term 2 oreadi and week 3 is OVER!

I haven had to chance to blog, or even rest well since the start of term 2. Its either TESTs/TUTORIAL dealines/PI or NPAP.

For week 1, carn rmb much but i know wed and fri were NPAP

For week 2, i tink we had maths chapter 2 test and lipids test. Week 2 wkends were epic. Friday i go trng and went home falling aslp immediately aft i bathe. the next day, sat was NPAP FULL DRESS REHEARSAL. holy shit i woke up at 3am preparing no.1 AND no.3. ironing 2 sets of shirt n pants plus putting all the ranks and buttons plus polishing boots. Bear in mind that i was awake since 3am. so trainings officially end trng at like 4 plus coz our aft trng review was like super long. we looked at each picture, each video etc etc. trng a parade is never easy. no wonder ndp starts in like may or june...and then aft npap we go and have our LUNCH at like 4 plus and then i have to chiong eat and chiong buy present coz theres STJ later and they reviewing angel mortal so must get present. And so i chionged to city hall to HAVE SOME PEOPLE BEING LATE FOR AN HOUR(me was late for 20mins ONLY HOR!) yea then had STJ at dome omg its so nice XD and its free hohoho. but JTS coming soon <.< haha so haf to pay back nxt time. and do alll sorts of stuff until I REACH HOME AT 12 midnite! SO I WAS PRACTICALLY AWAKE FROM 3am until 12 plus! with training summore! Next day still nid to wake up go piano. luckily its at 2.30pm =D

ok now Wk 3. PI DUE! Inequalities test! Econs ILP! Econs Test! thank god theres GOOD FRIDAY for me to like finally rest if not i realli will BEN KUI XD

Most of the things there are accurate except some, like Feu-de-Joie spelt as Feiu-de-Joie. Feu-de-Joie means Fire of Joy in French. Ta'at NOT tahat. Alih NOT Kaleh. And I realise that SAF Parade and Police Day Parade has a segment of silience for those that lost their lifes while in duty. the PC will give the command: Baris Tunduk. Where everyone will bow their heads, and stay there for a minute. i rmb we did this for PDP07.

oh and it mention Head TILT. Hello come on u dun TILT ur heads ur TURN ur heads!
duno y alot ppl like to TILT their heads, like they wan to break ur neck or something. The drill manual says TURN! for eyes left/right and dressing! TURN!!!!

Well and I jus realise that I am like one of the limited number of people in singapore that knows how to execute the Feu-de-Joie. Other than the annual NDP GOH, the last batch of people(youths) that know are from SYF Opening Ceremoney Parade 2006 GOH. and i am proud of it =)

Its like even SYFOC Parade 2008 din get to do it coz its indoors in SIS and SAF Parade and PDP dun do it. now only NDP does it. and of the 120 X 4 GOH contingents plus the CI trainers that know how to do it. how many actualli rmbs them aft so long.And its like a realli cool drill that requires realli alot alot alot of practice to execute it well. and it will like spam alot of blank rounds XD I will try to teach the sec 3s every year before they take over, but just 1 trng wun help much. those who wan to know can come n ask mi XD OH wait but I forget to say i onli noe the M16 version, which is wad NP/SPF and NC are using now. SAF/NDP transfer to SAR21 liao. so even lesser ppl know how to do feu-de-joie in M16...

aniway its like 9 more days to NPAP. Realli hope we can do well for the 50th anniversary.

Gala Dinner

well i have no time and hence this is going to be a quick post =)

for saturday there was drill video shoot before gala dinner marshalling. supposed to reach sch at 9am but i overslept so in the end i reach at 9.30. ok so finish all the remaining video that individuals haf to take. only left those that needs a squad. yep so time now is around 12 plus so we decided to go to the closest available place to have our lunch and we decided on POOLSIDE(yes no choice). in the end NOT OPEN so my lunch become tibits session. ok then great dorje not in sch yet so we dun haf the transponder to open LT2. the teacher dun let us go staffroom take from his table. so now i haf to think on my feet and brilliant me decided to get the cadets to go change first instead of changing after the briefing =) ok so finally dorje came and door open they took SO LONG to get into the LT coz brilliant ppl carn rmb their positions =.=

ok i fast forward to the end ah. We ended the whole thing ard 11.45pm, releasing the cadets and the NCOs,CIs,TOs all left LT2 at ard 12 plus midtnie. so our very hardworking and nice TOs namely Mr Ong, Mr Yong and Mr Tan offered to send us home =) I took Mr Yong's car tgt with terence, soo wee and 1 more guy. so nice rite =) in the end i reached home at 1 plus and i go bathe then i knock out on the bed already >.< Next day i woke up at 7am, go piano at 8am, ct outing at 11am and og outing at 2pm. more details on these later on =)

一切已结束了。希望自己可以赶快放下。但是偏偏他要那么靠近，很担心会勾起那些回忆。今天是我最后一个飞行课，当我下飞机时，我知道之前的感觉是对的。

也不是说很在乎我是否能不能继续这个课程，因为怎么说我都要在第六堂课后停止飞行。但是我要的是一种肯定。和 A 飞行的日子，（包括今天）我一点称赞都没有得到。但和 B 的唯一一堂课让我感觉很舒服。

以前我常常羡慕他为什么能得到　5　或　4　分，而我只有　4　或　3　分。现在我知道原来我并没有比它差经。他的导师是 B ，所以我做了一个叫公平的比较。B 当天给我的得分是　5，而那堂课对我来说和往常的没有什么特别，结论就是如果我的主导师是 B ，那么我也会得到　5　或　4　分。所以我并没有比它差劲，只是导师方面有不同的水准。

他非常幸运有那么好的导师，而且让他继续到第二阶段学习，但我不认为他有资格。原因很简单，我了解他的为人，有一种‘aiya，不要紧’的态度。那天我看他在模拟飞机上做练习，我已经在问，这种水尊也可以得到比我好的分数！？这个没做，那个忘记，不讲求细节，什么都乱乱作，真的很不应该。

哎，算了吧，这世界上有很多不公平的事，希望有机会的人可以好好珍惜，不要浪费它。

hohoho, aft this post, theres 8 more posts before i reach the 200 milestone =)

well had my 4th sortie today aft getting cancelled for the past 3. I am proud to say I did well before i gt phased out. Flew with a different instructor, cheeps. i wud say i feel more comfortable flying with him than with stupid dewitt. but oh wells. i saw the schedule for thurs. its sortie 5 AND 6. which means im phased out. well both sad and happi coz today its the first time i gt my 5, and its nt given by my pri instr ironically...and i gt the sudden urge to continue on. but my previouss 4 3 4 mite haf costed me and dewitt dun haf a gd impression of mi ANIWAY.

so yea i set my priorities b4 i flew oreadi. its NP. its definately NP =) and i am so looking forward to NPAP actual day. so on my last flight on thurs at 2.30(it btr nt rain or my angony will carry on) i will pay a visit to the simulator room and hope mr hi is inside so i can tok cok =D

well seriously. gd luck to those ppl whose pri instr are gd coz they seriously gt advantage. today it seem like cheeps was very patient to me and he gave mi a 5 and give alot of praises etc. totally different from dewitt. maybe its jus mi who carn adapt to dewitt. but yea. things MITE be diff if i had a diff instr? aftall dewitt nvr gave mi 5 while cheeps give mi 5...its the same me isnt it? ok a lil more well prepared and tts all. its the same str n level skill that i used. cheeps give mi 5 for S&L1. dewitt onli give 4. idk. u go tink urself ^^

holy mama. its almost 7 weeks since my last update. its like 2 mths? im realli sorrie. and yea like ive said before, sitemeter is like the health bar of the blog, and the post are the potions. so now my average view per day drop to 10 plus, its time to revive this blog before everyone forgets abt caiboi.blogspot.com

FIRSTLY! I FORGOT TO WISH MY BLOG A HAPPY BIRTHDAY ON THE 5th of FEB! Its her 2nd birthday and im realli glad to keep this blog going =)

many many many things happen. let mi continue from whr i last stop. OG!
well overall it was fun luh. all the OG lunch and stuffs. all the crappings. haha and we went to pizza hut on thurs evening and haf OG dinner. yingming came later so b4 tat we were toking cock. its very noisy there coz its like theres 3 other OG oreadi haha then we stayed until like 9 plus before we go out take OG photo before going home =) on friday unfortunately i haf to give SLIPPERY SLOPE a miss. a sacrifies for NPAP(ive sacrifies alot of NPAP. more details ltr) yep then i tink on the monday of the 2nd week of orientation we had our 2nd OG dinner. but this time round its totally different. we ordered KFC delivery and had it at jc canteen. the main purpose is actualli to give our gifts/present to our OGL, yingming. and its realli realli cool haha. go to facebook for pics/videos! she gave us a note and a notebook each too, although she screws up and forgot to bring some(NOT unusual XD) so for the 2nd week of orientation we were with CTs oreadi le lor. i cud say we bonded quite well within a short period of time XD 09S7A! haha i love them all. they all so funni.so cute. so lame one hahas. and our class flag was uber nice. gt time show u all peekture, try facebook to see oso can. then now oso duno whr the flag go liao XD yea then its campfire. i have to miss the afternoon campfire prep for the same thing. and i haf to miss the debrief and cab back to sch in time for all the fun =) Campfire was great! sang all the songs. dance all the dance. sweat like crazy, mad ppl. see the great fire etc etc. forming human trains and running ard. camwhoring etc. then aft everything ended our class and senior class went to KAP to haf supper. then miss last bus so i cab home. but its all worth it =D

WHILE the uber boring lessons started, i always anticipate the afternoons coz we will get to do fac dance! :D my dance partner - elieen is super duper ultra mega uber enthu abt fac dance hahaha yea i tink we enjoyed our dance sessions very much. esp weilun oggling at certain ppl XD forgot to mention that our civics tutor is mr chan yoke hian. a new guy, who apparent charms alot of girl with him handsome face and humurous personality. there goes all 17 girls in our class XD(ok maybe except some). so aft 2 wks of boring lessons, the 2nd friday is POST ORIENTATION PARTY! YAY! reliefed orientation moments whr we sing and dance. and most imptly our FAC DANCE COM! although ares nvr win...we noe we did our best and from the youtube video i could see myself! my angel said i dance well too XD and i tink on the whole everyone did great =) i like the gloves and light stick. its such a pity the sky is not dark yet, if nt the effect would be very nice. so aft POP we went to swirl, 13slc fac fav hangout, to haf our supper =) then had madjack for dinner coz i din haf lunch and dinner coz of NPAP(and i cab back to sch!) then we played some lame games like PIG and TABOO and then finally catch the last few buses home =)

Next I will tok abt NPAP. for those duno, its NATIONAL POLICE CADET CORPS ANNUAL PARADE. Its 2009, the 50th anniversary. Originally intended to be at Singapore Expo, however, due to economy recession, the budget din get approved by the ministry and hence we are back to home ground of home team academy. Actual day will be at HTA on 18 Apr 09 =)

So for 1st 2 trainings, i left sch at 1pm to report at the norm trainer reporting time at 2pm at everest(npcc) room. so HO Paul assigned us to our contingent. I took contingent 5 which consist of area 15 and 16 cadets AT THAT POINT of time before reshuffling. tgt with kevin(baton boy) and qin hui. First 2 training did not do much. its all basic static baton drills(dun even haf hormat) plus hentak kaki with turning.

The exciting part is from the 3rd training onwards im 1 of the 4 assigned to take GOH - Kawalan Kehormatan. It somehow shows that my priority is set right and skipping yfc for trainer selection is sort of worth it =) Yep so actualli taking GOH isnt realli easy. and the training time is relatively shorter coz we haf to draw + return arms. i was in a GOH. now i can stand in the shoes of the trainers. but the sitatuation is different now. we haf 47 schools fighting for 100 palces. i have to kick at least 32 ppl. coz the latest trng i kicked 32 ppl to form my 100.

Well, its been quite a fruitful journey for NPAP ever since it started and every training i will learn something new. now i love this parade coz we tried out new formations like the 1st and 2nd rank will march in from different sides of the grandstand and it look quite grand and nice. and i oso love the gold flag form up and march past formations. last training HO zaki also asked to to try shouting as the parade marker and see if i can or not. though i would have prefered GOH CC more. so lets see their decision bah. but last trng we marked out all the markings for CCs so me and kevin sort of tried it out and it feels shiok to do the CC 14-1-2 haha XD
Yep. Very looking forwawrd to my boys perfecting their parade drills/sequence while the CIs do their very best =)

Now, on to YFC. well i have started flying. dun wan to tok too much abt it. its quite certain that even, though highly unlikely that i make it into phase 2, i will jus stop at my 6th sortie and withdraw...phase I is a gd enuff experience. dun wan to tok too much abt yfc realli. isnt realli a very pleasant experience although SOME STAFFS THERE ARE REALLI FRIENDLY AND I DUN WAN TO LEAVE SO SOON. plus the skies are realli beautiful and flying is realli fun. but i dun tink i can juggle 1 more commitment. so yea. the exp is gd enuff =) dun wan to put too much details here. u wan u can come ask mi =)

well the hci npcc exco is going to drive me crazy. i shall make use of this 1 week to sort things out....and maths lecture test i gt 11/30...and econs i got 19.5/30...time to buck up...

Army Cadet Corps was formed in 1903 if im nt wrong (confirm is 190x)

1969, army cadet corps, air cadet corps, sea cadet corps and police cadet corps merged to form National Cadet Corps. PCC became NCC(Police). The beret haf a crest similar to the current NCC crest. other cadet forces became NCC(Services).

1967, first Combined Cadet Corps Parade held at Police Training School. SYFOC was oso held with President Yusof Ishak as the RO

1968, PCC mounted the GOH with PM Lee Kwan Yew as the RO. For the first time in history of all cadet forces, GOH conned ceremonial no.1 dress and carried SLR rifles complete with bayonets. (seem like npcc like to make alot of first in syfoc)

1970, Inter-Unit Annual Drill Competition started. Scrapped in 1986 due to de-emphasising of drill and because it over-generated competition

1971, NCC(P) renamed to NPCC

1972, changing of uniform colour from grey shirts and kahki shorts to marine blue. 3 yrs aft the police

wow time realli flies. chu xi till now, chu er, 3 days. they passed jus like that. so on DA NIAN CHU XI, my family aka my father, my mother, my elder sis and me will eat TUAN YUAN FAN. actualli nothing different from normal coz we almost everyday oso eat liddat. jus tat the food abit more special. order from restaurant one haha. so its jus liddat lor and i watched QUE SHENG 3 which is like damm funni as usual. I rmb last yr we watched QUE SHENG 1 & 2 with my paternal cousins. dam funi =D

then its midnite, so its DA NIAN CHU YI oreadi, so get mandrain orange and bai nian with my parents. Get ANG BAO, put underneath pillow. Watch ZHANG XUE YOU concert on DVD util 3.30am. Sleep. Next morning wake up at like 10 plus, bathe n change and then make out way to my uncle house. Everytime we board the cab to my uncle house same situation one. 'uncle, kang chu beng road.' 'wad? whr?' 'simon camp there' 'orh' ok its kinda obvious tat my uncle lives in some landed property and its some weird road name that no one has ever heard of before lol. but apparently all the taxi drivers noe whr simon camp is although its like non-existant for a dam long time oreadi. ok so its jus a gathering of my paternal side relatives for a few hours and we watched a movie. i tink tis call TUO PI or wadever its like gt this YAO JING wear a human mask and try to seduce a guy la. quite nice.

then go home rest. wake up, bathe again, chagne again, go to my maternal grandparents house and meet up with my maternal relatives. to be very honest i am so much closer to my maternal relatives and cousin than my paternal one. maybe coz my paternal side all like older than mi, my oldest paternal cousin has a child who is like onli 8 yrs younger than mi. he is like going to 40 le and is a colleague of tan heng yang at ccab. and like out of 11 paternal cousins, 7 are married...at my maternal side, 3 other cousins, none married haha. and i can tok to my uncle n auntie at my maternal side very well one =) so we r like much closer. but gt ang bao can oreadi hor =) XD so we lou hei-ed at my grandparents house. haha its fun.

then its CHU ER. i wore the berms that i bought and i realli like it =) visited my mum's auntie. gt 2 family. so they r like my grandauntie. at the 2nd house we played mahjong without money. its not fun at all coz the other 3 players are noober than mi if not very noob/beginner...my family jus dun haf the tradition of playing mahjong...play at chalet btr haha. then aft tat my family and my xiao jiu and xiao jiu mu come to tampines eat hans then come to our hse watch movie. first is WALL-E then its YE WEN. both dam nice haha. yea and then here i can blogging... =D

FYI, for the past 16 years all the money from my ang bao are banked into my joint account with my mum so its quite some moeny plus interest. So my piano is Yamaha U5 model, cost 11k when i bought it. my mum jus go and withdraw 5k from my acc. wah dam pek cek...so nw haf to care for the piano alot haha. and then the laptop money 1k oso from my acc...now left 1k plus for my ATM card to use...hopefully everyyear the amt will increase instead of decreasing =)

ANW tat day i was packing and cleaning my room and i haf this compartment full of files and i tink they sort of bring back many gd memories. Firtly gt this dam thick one, the thickest among all is the file with all the bus information. Yes, BUS. last time i haf this interest in bus (dun ask mi why) and since i was so free in 2005, sec 1 i often went to the library reference section to check out all those old old bus guides and oso search online. its ji cool la i realise. gt those bus info in 80s and 70s...next time is treasure lor hahaha

Then the next file is Sec 1 Level Day 2006. I jus remembered that the batch of student who experienced my poorly organisedc sec 1 level day was the sec 4s this year lol. time flies, tat time sec 1, now sec 4 hahaha. dun blame mi if u din enjoy it. tat time i oso sec 2 onli. sec 2 be OS dam stress haha.

Then we haf Council Retreat 2006, where i was oso the OS. so i was OS twice in sec 2 =)

Then its this: Writing Effective Minutes of Meeting. 2-Day Course for People's Association. My sis give mi one. she last time work in PA in charge of courses tat kinda stuff. so since i was the head of training and development in the council i used it lor

The next one is also a very thick one. It is the largest scale and the most exciting event i have ever organised. Open House 07. I will never forget the experience there and the fun luh. Its not easy summore but learn alot of things. I still rmb how sandra tan HANG UP MY CALL and then continue to send sms to SHOOT me and how she blasted mi on the eve of open hse until i wan to cry. but all these are worth it haha

And then its this Jill Lowe Grooming course file that we attended at the start of sec 3. totally forgotten wad has been taught lols.

Then those left are small small files like Teachers Day 2006, Leadership Sabbatical, SLC handbook etc. These are like my own archive and i din noe my exp in council was so much. carn imagine sec 2 noe wad is proposal, action plan etc. thnx to those seniors who guided mi along esp one who has a dam special way of vetted proposals. spam all the red ink, draw big circles and then sign his big name. he was the one that made mi followed all the SOPs and protocols haha. shant name who he is.

Yep tts all about mi packing my files =D

now now now, something more serious...i have been noticing this emo thrend among people around me. i realli realli dun understand. conincidence? i duno. maybe haf something to do with the economy recession...but its like ive seen a number of ppl who find this CNY uninteresting, unhappening and most are like having very bad days etc. on a more MI XIN note, its not very JI LI for the year as well...i myself oso experienced some emo periods early last year but i tink i got over it pretty fast, before CNY and since then i tink i haf been maximising my 3rd strength quite well, which is POSITIVITY. this positivity thinggy have kept mi going for a long time, covering a great distance and i realli hope it can be my fuel forever =) and of coz as wad strengthquest haf said, i haf the ability to influence those ard mi as well, so i shall try my best. feel sad/emo/hurt/down jus tok to mi =) i tink pan shin can testify this haha

1 last thing before i end of this post. jus wana say i tink we shld cherish and treasure wadever that we haf. esp family,friends and health. u will nvr noe when it will be gone, and when its gone, it will be. but u duno when. 1yr? 2yrs? 10yrs? or will it stay with u throughout ur lifetime? duno rite? so jus cherish and treasure every moment u haf. it oso applies to ur council term or cca exco term. cherish the 1 year. its seriously dam short. i hope i can turn back time but i carn. 想回到过去 ::: 在享受一次 . but its impossible now =(

Quick updates before CNY =)

So on the 10th of jan, we have NPAP selection 2. Zaki sir taught us that we must always have the objective of the session clear in our heads throughout the training and hold our debrief according to objectives. He also mention that as CIs, we must always know more than what the cadet know, why is a drill done in this way and not that, why is it 3 paces and not 10 paces. Then our cadet will respect us. If we do not know more than what the cadet know, we are actually at the same level as them, the only difference will be the rank. Zaki Sir oso say 'I dun wan any CIs to be shot by the cdt. Like why the CI can have long hair i cannot. If this happens, I will axe u immediately.'

Zaki Sir also mentioned that we must have Sharpness and Precision in our Drills. Most ppl have either 1 or none. It takes practice to have both. Sharpness is moving between action in the fastest possible time. Precision is to do the drill correctly, properly, according to the drill manual. Take pusing for example, some ppl turn slowly. So he mite haf the precision but dun haf sharpness. Take kekanan lurus for example, some plp can do it quickly but he is tilting the head which is incorrect. so there is sharpness without precision. Budden he emphasise that sharpness cannot be applied to personal drill. like sword drill. u imagine hormat for sword in a dam quick manner lol. He oso ask us not to limit ourselves to certain drill. if we can, before trng can practice sword or flag if we wan even if we posted to supporting con. coz not everyone get to do thsoe drills. like flag drill. he say which sch u see every muster parade gt flag party one haha dam funni.

1 last thing he mention was that when we teach drills. Tell them what we want them to do and not what we dun wan them to do. So do not tell them what the common mistakes are when we teach drills. The common mistakes are stated in the drill manual for us to spot the mistakes not for the person doing the drill to know. Bcoz the more u tiao the cadets wad u dun wan them to do, the more they will do it. JUST LIKE WHEN THE NCO SHOUT WALK SUMMORE WALK SUMMORE THEN THE CADETS WILL START TO RUN. (I WAS LOL-ing at this example. DAM HILARIOUS!)

On the 16 jan we had IPC, instructor prep course

nth much, went through the drill manual that we did. and we spent 1 hour standardising how to draw sword when there is onli 1 person in the parade that will be doing that drill and it mite not even be a CI! haha

So on 19 Jan, jc lessons, or rather lessons in JC, content still high school, started. Well, Bio is dam interesting, which made mi change my mind from PCME to BCME. afterall i still lvoe bio more than phy =)

Oh and on 16 Jan Ms Tan talked to me on msn again. She gave birth on 16 Dec so that day she man yue, out of confinement liao. She asked abt my HCL results and say its ok, can get into university haha =) She oso say she will be back in sch in T1W9 and if she had taken the full 4 mths of leave she wun be back until T2W5, must be she miss sch too much XD She asked mi to be more YONG GONG, study for test early, coz she say i dun do things well if im too stress out =) thank kew! then i went off msn. then next morning saw her reply saying she afk coz she was feeding haha. the baby aka gareth nauti la midnite make noise XD

23 jan CNY celeb in sch, had combined assembly in the morning, very long dun haf oreadi. then jc celeb, nth much. then gt market which din interest us so a few of us went back to high school to look for our beloved teachers. I found Honyp, Png (both seated with Kohkt) and I oso found dorje beside the old man gang. so i asked dorje if he joining the le ling ju le bu, he say yes lol. and then we talked to ms loh oso. shes forever very nice to talk to =) it feels so gd to be back in high sch, currently i feel more belong to high school than in college, which is the reason y i keep insisting on coming back to high sch canteen to eat, coz everything is jus so familiar to you. the onli different is of coz u carn enter the classroom that u used to be in =(

ok and today i went down to syfc for my safety brief and collected by student pilot licence =)

Busy Busy!!

well i realise that i haven been blogging aft wad ive done aft CIBTC.

some quick run through.

if i rmb correctly, on christmas day itself we(aka haojie, xining, junrong, kaeyuan, toad etc) went to bugis to shop for new year clothes. then aft tat we go harbourfront to watch Australia, coz tts the onli show that can fit 10 ppl and showing soon. quite nice la. jus abit loooooooooooooooooooong hehez. i realli like the 3 shirts and 1 berm that i bought ^_^

yea and not forgetting the other days were all spent on npcc =D

hmm so on the last day of 2008 we go to kae yuan's house! haha its fun yea. we played mahjong. and camp on the TV. and the mass sound horn thinggy haha. oh and we watched pirates aft xiao niang re haha. then at ard 11.30 we go down to boon lay place there to countdown. then saw jian ler and wei sheng. then walk back to his hse continue watching pirates. but since we haf to catch the last train at 1.30am so we haf to go before it finishes lor...haha walked to lakeside and missed the last 2nd train so wait for the last train to come. its dam cool to take the last train home haha =)

then on new years day itself we went bugis to jalan again. but then we all left home and i ate dinner with my family =)

then next day is friday trng liao. BAD. left home quite late. some nco's mum complained abt it. i was like wads the big fuck deal abt it. yea aniway haf to polish my boots coz

the next day is NPAP 2009 Parade Trainer Selection! WOHOO haha ok ive blogged abt it.

then on the 6th i had my first flight simulator training. nth much. its abt checks, so we learn all the checks and RT calls until pre taxi =) its fun luh. the instr let us play with the sim. took off. land on water. land on runway. anihow fly ard bukit timah lol haha and oso stall the plane. its dam fun XD

and on the 7th its EP3 Orientation. I wore my no.1 and sword =)

then immeidately aft orientation chiong to pasir there. 116 pasir ris rd. some bungalow, chalet of xining's mum's company. she bid it for $40 for 5 days. wad a great bargain la lol. had lotsa fun lor haha. mahjong. toyol. sound horn. movie. cycling =))

then on the 9th when we end the chalet i still chiong to trng. this time round i love the marching that the sec 2s did. my pointers finally sank into their head and its FANTASTIC. their morale was HIGH HIGH HIGH and i realli love it =D yea and this time round i reached home at 12... =.=

ok on to the next day which is NPAP which i shall blog later

i move on to the 12 of jan first. haha O lvl result release. i gt A2 for chinese! haha i was so hapi la i was tiaoling myself if i ge B4 i hapi liao!!!

haha its gd to expand my knowledge and try flag drill =)
had always wanted to try flag drill.

then we went back to have debrief.
HO paul showed us the drill document its jiomgwtfbbqfking detailed.
every drill, every action, every part of the execution i.e the weapon, the head, left right hand, left right leg. every single thing is listed down. u read liao sure noe hw to do the drill properly!

then HO zaki oso showed us pictures of our drill and then we discuss abt our drill, correct them etc. its gd. im going to do the same to our unit.

first thing is going through basics and realli correcting the minor minor minor mistakes and make sure everyone does the standardised drill
then make a compeltedly revamp drill manual
and maybe during nco camp i use camera and take pictures and review their drill =)

harlo all. its been a long time since i last updated.

the primary of this objectives is to update till ATC =)

ATC was interesting in many sense. Outdoor training can be fun too. Things like orienteering, survival and pioneering. i tink our sch training shld haf such things too! makes things much more lively, purposeful and fun.

yea aniway the last part of ATC was camp closing. and the batch, together with the instructors and course manager will stand in a big circle in the field. the instructors all have a collar pin. to be presented to outstanding trainees whom they feel deserves it. theres 131 trainees and abt 25 instructors. so not everyone will get it.

yea so the instructors starting walking abt looking for the trainee they wanted to give to. hao jun sir walked towards me. he brought mi aside and talked to me. i shall write wad he said to me ltr on. yea jus wana thank hao jun sir for giving mi the badge =)

then aft tat all instructors will walk one round the trainees, shake their hands and talk to them if they wan to.

so i shall summarise wad most of the instructors say to mi:
-some say sometimes im quite a solo worker
-sometimes shld listen more to team members
-hao jun sir say i shldnt jus focus too much on the goals
-mark sir said its gd i help squadmates with uniform, and pass down my knowledge
-hao jun sir say its gd i go out of comfort zone and step out and take on active role since day 1
-yi xiang sir say i haf am famous and haf a notorious name
-joseph sir say my performace is according to morale, it shld be a consistent performance
-caine sir dragged me out and threatened mi that if i dun help out in area15, he will use the nominall roll with him to track mi down
-nicholas sir say im one of the best trainne from CHINESE HIGH
-philo maam say she gt cousin in our sch but refuse to tiao mi who
-joseph sir kip asking wads his name
-vincent sir say 'ive been observing u from far'
-one maam oso say i shld not panic and shld cool down coz i dun do things well when i panic

And the last day of atc i oso realise that the 2 RI guys that did dam freaking well in written test fail soft skills assessments

the past week haf been quite eventful

did some of my favourite drills like arms drill and SWORD DRILLS. now then i understand. SWORD DRILL IS DAM HARD TO MASTER! haha but hte feeling of wearing a sword belt and holding a sword for half and hour is quite cool. and rehatkan diri is reali dam nice XD so is hormat!

for arms drill nothing much luh basically we ive been learning so far is correct and not much changes are made unlike footdrill

so the 5 days of residential course and 1 day of non-residential course. quite fun and meaninful i shld say. though some ppl pissed the rest off the squad by being irritating, i still love CHARLIE SQUAD!

so friday we booked out and went home
saturday met up at changi point ferry terminal for non-residentail course at ubin.
3 activities, tent pitching practical, flagstaff practical and water confidence jump.
we've taken the theory test for water confidence jump the day before, so then aft the practical we r qualified to be assistant conducting officer and aft we reached the age of 18 will be qualified as conducting officer =)

during lunch i saw chenlianyu ma'am, then i told myself HOLY MAMA OH SHIT!
as ive tot she will bully mi
when we walk to jetty she walk towards us then she shout loud loud CAI HONG LIANG!
wah then i chua tio u noe...then everyone else laughing....so pai seh XD

budden i tink if shes not around i will hum ji at the back and not dare to jump first. but since shes there then to prevent from getting niaoed i go first lor. so im 3rd to jump. yea quite fun. wear lifevest first. go to jetty, watch lianyu ma'am demo. then off we go. stand on the edge of the platform, shout name, hold life vest, pinch nose, look at horizon, take a step, close my eyes tight, then 'y so long haven reach', then BOM! haha reach liao then i come up HO sykin say cai hongliang, then i reply what, she say: you what me!

haha but jetty jump is fun. next time sec 3 STC i will go there be ACO =)

tts about it. gt 3 lesson plans to do. plus orienteering 3 plans, plus baton drill lesson to prepare plus ATC movement proposal =)

oh yea our course started with 159 nominees...nw we r left with 133 trainees...gt ppl faint, vomit blah blah alot alot of casulty...haix btr take care of myself

Initially, my results state LEP merit, so nvr count into my msg, so i was so dam worried u noe. initial MSG was 2.67. So i went to look for shen then he ask mi go office ask. office ask mi look for subject teacher. Then i cannot find fang lao shi. so i go look for shen again. luckily he helped mi looked for yeotc and she knew abt the problem and help mi tiao the chio bu karren down at the office so she help mi reprint =)

So yea, alot ppl will most likely be very disappointed or wad when they get back my results but for me i tink ive oreadi done my best le lor, at the end of the day its always: 扪心自问，经历了没？ once the answer is yes. then u shld be happi about the result =) I realli mugged hard le. Saturated le. duno how i can be any better le. maybe foundation not gd, so 2 yrs of stuff to be mugged seem to be a chore for me.

but aniway, i have to go for maths reexam, not because of MSG, MSG　meet criteria. its the subject itself. coz requirement to take maths is B4, so teyah say even if msg very gd, maths C5 still nid to retake if wan to take H2 maths in JC.yep so im mugging hard so that i wun let mr png down again =)

its been a long time since i blogged. and its been a long time since someone tagged...viewership is dropping oso...SAD

aniway...recently nth much la...other than HONYP's interesting chinese lessons...its POKEMON cards...yes u neh see wrongly. POKEMON cards. somehow my class gt this pokemon card craze now so everyone like take out their deck and started fighting lawl....yep. onli managed to gym one day...

and at home its flight sim all the way. and watching air crash investigations.

ohya rmb i watched one episode and wanted to blogged about it.

its the crash of American 96 and Turkish 981 due to design fault in the DC10.

the first one haf no death while the 2nd one everyone died.

the thing is the DC 10 was developed by Macdonell Douglas Coporation in the 80s against the strong competition from Boeing. So actualli during the testing of DC10, the fault in the cargo door has oreadi been found.

*BACKGROUND KNOWLEDGE: as plane climbs, the cabin haf to be pressurised so that passengers can breathe normally. this caused the air pressure in side the plane to press against the body of the aircraft as the air pressure outside is much lower. so the most doors are designed to be slightly larger than the opening so that when the door closes it will press against the aircraft body and this design will be very save and prevent opening of doors inflight.

However, newer planes like all the airbus and boeing jets you see know haf cargo doors opening OUTWARDS. this is because they wan to include payload so that they can earn MORE money. so for this kind of door, when they close some locking mechonism must hold them in place properly. If not the air pressure wil force open the door and cause explosive decompression which will be very dangerous to the plane as it will compromise the integrity of the airframe and passengers life will be in grave danger.

During the testing of the DC10, the cargo door actualli failed the pressurisation test. the door actualli broke free of the aircraft body. however due to intense competition, MD continued to produce the aircraft. which means it is a ticking time bomb in the skies, waiting for accidents to happen.

Anw aft the American 96 accidents, and investigations found out about the door failure. they recommended some changes to be made to the aircraft cargo door to make it safer.

Aviation experts always say every accident will make aviation SAFER

However, AFTER the turkish accident which caused 300+ ppl to DIE. THEN did they found out that there was a GENTLEMEN agreement between MD and the Faderal Aviation Adminstration, the governing body of aviation in USA that MD will solve the problem. Hence the FAA did not issue a Airworthiness DIRECTIVE which will cause all the DC10s to be GROUNDED to be modified as MD feared that it mite affect their reputation and sales of the DC10. In fact, very little if not nothing was done to make the cargo door safer. So 2 years later, it failed again. Now aft 300ppl died then did they issue an Airworthiness directive and force ALL DC10 to be grounded until they have added reliable security measures.

But anyway, the DC10s sales was seriously affected and by 1992, Boeing bought them over.

OKAY. Aft crapping so much, the MORAL OF THE STORY IS: MORAL VALUES come before MONEY.

For the sake of MONEY, MD put thousands of lives a risk. In the end? Not onli did they not earn much, they kena taken over, because of a stupid decision to continue production with a faulty design.

Maths first. This one i felt realli bad. Not because I never do well, i know i really tried to practice but maybe I'm wrong for not allocating more time for this subject(but then again my other subject will suffer if i never study enuff). But I felt really bad because Mr Png is a really gd teacher and im sure F9 is something that will realli disappoint him... D: well too late i guess. Sorry Mr Png.

Then its chinese. Well nothing much. Average i guess. Guess that honyp is o.0 as usual. firstly he insisted that he mark very leniently if nt we all will get LING2 DAN4. Next he said '有些人头脑 short circuit 不知道为什么会写一大堆废话... ' Then he did this : trying to UNtagle the string of the projector screen, but end up tangling it even more... And then its IHE Geog...nth much limcc as usual likes to slack...din go thorugh...jus count marks...onli gt 20.5/30 happi that deciduous gt accepted.

and finally Chem. Wah Mr Chew must be damm sad and disappoint and im actualli quite sorrie for this oso. But i realli studied for chem leh..duno y get 51/100. So i checked every ans thoroughly and managed to squeeze FOUR(4) marks out to make it 55/100. Its the firs time i work so hard to squeeze marks...pity mr chew...ppl queue up to squeeze marks for THREE hours...

for thurs:
IHC in the morning. well nth mcuh to say. 22/30. Our class TOP the level. we r imba. maths last in lvl. IHC top in lvl. maybe coz we tok cok and crap too much until our arguments dam zai. Aft standardisation will gt ppl add mark. onli melvin minus 1 mark. then nancy told us, some teacher say her class top because she mark leniently. then she say 'I AM SO ANGRY U NOE. I WAN TO SCOLD THE F WORD TO HER! I MEAN Y IS SHE SO ANAL ONE AH. Y NOT SAY SHE MARK TOO STRICTLY! YOU GUYS ARE TOP STUDENT HOW CAN YOU GET 6. something 7. something!? THE NATIONAL AVERAGE IS ONLI 2.xx!'haha yea i agree she taught us all the skills needed for the exam =)

then its physics...nth much to say...paper 2 din do well...although paper 1 gt 24/30...

so aniway aft friday INITIALLY wanted to do gym and run with ken ler then aft eaten gabriel ask if wan go his hse play tennis the ken ler like in love with tennis liddat decided to PS me so i jus follow them to gabriel's house. While they playing i went to the gym and ran and did some weights then i go out and play a lil bit of tennis. OMG IM NOOB XD haha but nvm la. gt hold of some skills...yea then aft that bathe, changed and go for ortus nite. oh yea and i borrowed UNITED 93(the movie) from gabriel and i watched it ytd. DAM NICE! so XIN SUAN la...haix...if onli they found out that the terrorist bomb is a fake...yep tts it

next im wan to tok abt ortus nite
generally speaking, i think all sec 4s are disappointed.
i dunch noe wad happen and i dun wan to make assumption here but i believe we expected more since we have experience btr ortus nite when we were sec 1-3

basically i can rmb everyone was like waiting for ortus nite to end and nt like prevoius yrs wanting it to go on and on

sec 1 we had lord of the rings overnite screening

sec 3 we had TEACHERS acting

and last yr i rmb many teachers, as many as 20 stayed until almost the end like 9.30pm lidat

finally aft SOOOOOOOOOOOO LONG i no nid to wake up early to go to AMK lib to CHOP seat so i happy happy slp until 12noon! haha im a PIG

then slowly go bugis meet yalam and xining and pres to haf lunch before our last BBoy lesson at O School

saw zhenwei and his friends and since xining had fun niaoing him i joined in. XD

aniway jus wanna say if u look ard u. its not hard to find one construction site. be it building a new shopping centre, new ERP gantry, resurfacing of roads or upgrading of lifts. right outside my door now is building a lift. right out of my window they resurfacing the roads. right opposite my block they tearing down Tampines Pri and Sec to build new ones. I bet wif u after the Cicle Line MRT and KPE is complete. There will be new expressways. new MRT lines. After they upgrade ALL the interchange in singapore into aircon ones, they will upgrade the FIRST aircon interchange coz its old. consturction is nonstop! jus pass by bendemeer there by taking 23. wah building wad WOODSILVE interchahge, wah to ease wad conjestion...now its super jam there...and it will take YEARS to complete la =.= and then on PIE towards changi near Eunos there saw a HALF COMPLETE ERP GANTRY XD haha beware! i read a book on changi, some guy said the advantage of working at the airport is u are travelling against the peak traffic when u go to work and go home haha ppl go towards City, u move away from City..and then u can SIAM all the ERP XD

Events that clashed : CI ATC and Graduation Ceremony

its the ATC

"All trainees are expected to undergo all aspects and components of the course before they are appointed as CI. Missing out any components or not attaining the required attendance will cause them not able to graduate from the course. Even though they may have missed the ATC and willing to make up at the June 2009 CIBTC ATC, these trainees will not be officially appointed as CI and will not have posting order issued to them; in other words, they can only be under HQ supervision and deployment to perform administrative/logistical routines.

ATC is one of the key components of the course. Besides learning how to work together as a team, trainees are expected to apply what they had learnt from their RC into practice. It will also be a different experience for them as a camper during the ATC - not as a "normal" camper they used to be during their Sec 2/3 ATCs but in the capacity of CI-to-be camper mindset. Experiencing and exploring being a CI-to-be camper would be a different learning process to them."

If i cancel my trip, S$500 deposit will be forfeited.

If i go for june course, I will miss HALF A YEAR OF STUFFS. im not very willing to let go those stuffs la...ESP NPAP...

Singapore Youth Festival Opening Ceremony 2006 @ National Stadium
1 July 2006, Saturday

This part of my npcc career can be described as a 转捩点.

I cannot remember much abt my attitude towards drill in sec 1. But somehow in sec 2 i can actualli be one of them that went to the initial NPAP 2006 which was then replaced by the sec 3s as we upgrade from supporting con to GOH con. I duno why but i was the lucky one, realli lucky one to be the onli one from my squad to go and stand in for seniors who cannot make it for GOH training. I went twice. Miggling with seniors. But the thing that left a lasting impact was touching a rifle for the first time. a real one. i din even touch any dummy rifle before. I picked up some drills on the spot so that the CI there wun noe that im stand in. and it laid a foundation for my love for rifle drills.

Then a group of us went for SYFOC06. Another sibei lucky chance. I think its all FATED. As i went for the 2 NPAP trainings, when they fill in the nominal roll for SYFOC, i wasnt in. But then kev leong have something on during the trainings date so haf to find one replacement and i am the one.

First training of SYFOC, basic drill. then we were told to mass hentak. CIs walked around correcting you and watching u. Suddenly you see CIs pulling ppl's hand and start writing stuffs on their hand. Cyril was first, he was labelled 1. Clement was next, labelled 2. Im 3rd, labbeled 3. Taylor was 4th, labbeled R. Aft we berhenti, we found out that CIs will choose a max of 4 ppl from each sch labelling them as 1,2,3,R. Then we were told to record our names down. Next training onwards, report as Guard-of-Honour.

2nd training, report as GOH. Then all the R removed, so Taylor byebye le go back supporting con. so its the 3 of us. Cyril, Clement and Me. Secondary 2. GOH. Feu-de-Joie. Our seniors din even get to learn. Up till now onli the 3 of us realli noe hw to do it properly. Theres 120-130 ppl, fighting for 96 places in the final contingent.

Contingent Commander: CI Lee Jia Hong
Contingent 2nd-in-Command: CI Nelson Wong
Reserve Contingent Commander: CI Ahmad

These 3 CIs are damm zai and i respect them alot. Their teaching methods are good and effective and their own drill oso very good. I dun respect all CI. Some CI u jus haf to listen to them coz they higher rank than u but actualli they dun deserve ur respect one.

Also if you guys wonder where do my knowledge and enthusiasm for parades come from. Its from SYF. Intensive training by Firdous Sir. GOH gt evn more trainings. All those pointers will eventually be driled into your head. Wads more, i met a 2 yrs older than me senior of my pri sch, holding the rank of SI. the entire contingent onli 2 SI and 1 of them become flag escort so left Steven to help the CIs out. I duno if its bcoz im close to steven or wad, but jia hong sir seemed to notice me and eventually put my final position at the right marker file 4th man(its a 6 rank contingent). As u all noe right marker shld be very tall de, but im not realli tall so can onli be in the middle of the right marker rank. And SI Steven was in front of mi. The right marker rank gt a dam great role to play la. Me and Steven being right behind Jia Hong Sir during march past is suppose to guide Jia Hong Sir to make sure we are all align. the 3 step difference which i always emphasise during our sch NDP if u realise. this syf was realli great scale, with the Prime Minister being the RO and 56 thousand spectators they even haf markings on the ground labelled 1 2 3 4 5 6 for march past and being the front file leading the contingent other than the CC for the march past it was very impt for us to glance down and find the marking and then aligh ourselves. the belok oso very impt coz we first to do. challnging job but i learn alot alot. realli alot. most of my pointers for parade learn from here one. Actualli this is where i learn most of the stuffs from, from CIs and Firdous Sir. even NPAP07 was jus a repeat of wad ive learnt and maybe jus jadikan dua barisan new onli...the rest is all like revision...

yah so next time see mi very particular abt parade de drill, dun blame me =)

Just want to say luck and fate seem to play a very big part in my NPCC career.
